Germany in short

Germany is the only country taking part in all ESC's so far (though it failed to get through to the final in 1996). Still it managed to win only once, in 1982. After this fifth effort by Ralph Siegel brought him finally success, the country was plagued by the Siegel-syndrome until as late as 2003. Since Siegel found a new home in Switzerland, who knows if a second victory may come soon.

2008

The German entry for the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest is a Scandinavian co-production by Stockholm-based Norwegian singer/songwriter Hanne Sorvaag and Danish top songwriters Thomas Troelson and Remee. The song Disappear is performed by the popular German girlband No Angels, while the actual tune is carried by the two backing singers hidden behind the stage.
