Finland in short Most Eurovision books and articles that are not up-to-date are still full of references and jokes about Finland's poor record. Up until 2006 they were residents of the bottom ten (with a few brave excursions to the middle of the table once in a while).
2006 changed history when Lordi achieved the highest score ever, and a status of national heroes. Their own result in Helsinki was back to business as usual, however they were still the best placed Western European country. 2008 The Finnish entry is called Missä Miehet Ratsastaa , performed by popular heavy metal band Teräsbetoni. The song will most likely be performed in Finnish in the Eurovision Song Contest. |
