Hungary in Eurovision 2008 - Candlelight (Szívverés) (Csézy) - Eurovision Nation Hungary

Candlelight (Szívverés)
Csézy
Music/Lyric: Viktor Rakonczai, Jánosi
Hungary in short

Hungary: the 'come and go' country. They joined the ESC family back in 1994, and scored top marks from the first three juries but eventually came 4th. In 1995 they came second last however and they failed to qualify for the 1996 edition of the contest.

After another bad result in 1998 they ditched us all in 1999, only to come back in 2005, to spare us the happiness of having them again in 2006. In 2007 they were back, and Rusza Magdi (surname first) came 9th, the highest result for any participant without significant automatic votes.

2008

Wearing an ostrich, Csézy won the national final with the ballad Szívverés, which in Belgrade will be sung in English under the title Candlelight, possibly refering to the funeral atmosphere it will create in the hall.
