Norway in Eurovision 2008 - Hold On Be Strong (Maria Haukaas Storeng) - Eurovision Nation Norway

Hold On Be Strong
Maria Haukaas Storeng
Music/Lyric: Mira Craig
Norway in short

The Norwegian 1963 participation is perhaps most remembered thanks to their controversial sudden change of votes awarding the victory to Denmark, but that same year Anita Thallaug and her song Solhverv became the first Norwegian null pointer of 4 and first last placer of 10, more than any other country.

The two main exceptions to Norway's generally poor history in ESC, are the victories in 1985 and 1995, which both involved composer Rolf Lovland and an artist with a strong connection to the host country in a leading role. Unfortunately Lovland nor any Serbian artist has subscribed for MGP 2008.

In 2006 Norway became the first Nordic country to sing in its native language since 1998.

2008

Maria Haukaas Storeng, with a striking similarity to Guri Schanke, will sing the contemporary Hold On Be Strong in Belgrade. Expect to see composer Mira Craig getting most of the attention.
