Poland made a great debut in 1994 and if RTÉ hadn't indoctrinated all jury members with a shameless 2-hour commercial about Ireland, it might have been a first time victory. As a possible apology, Ireland have opened up their doors to a big mass of Polish voters recently, which have had a positive effect on the country's points fomr Ireland the last few years. Unfortunately that has not been enough, and 1994 is more or less all about Poland's ESC success. Only Ich Troje crossed the border of the top 10 in 2003, but 2004 sent them to the semifinal from which they never escaped (although they came 11th twice).
