Portugal in the Eurovision Song Contest 2009

Festival do Cançao 2009 took place in early March, and RTP did not even bother to fly in last year's winner Vania from Madeira.

Twelve songs were short-listed by online voting and competed for the ticket to Moscow. Nationally popular Luciana Abreu (part of 2B, Portugal 2005) won the televote but the jury ensured Flor-de-Lis went on to Moscow.
